The Latest From Google About Penguin Algorithm Changes

The latest announcement from Google about the Penguin Algorithm has surprised some SEO experts. Read on for more information.

In the wake of the most recent Penguin algorithm update (Penguin 3.0, October, November and December 2014), many SEO experts have been trying in vain to work out when they can expect to see the end of the fluctuations in their clients’ rankings. Whilst many have been scrambling around and desperately trying to stabilise the visibility of the websites they’re responsible for, Google made an announcement on the subject that has come as a little bit of a surprise. The announcement from Google basically stated that there will actually be no end to the rollout of the update at all. Whilst one-off updates of a bigger nature have not been stated as being off the cards, and we suspect that we will continue to see them at various points in the future, the announcement says that the Google Penguin algorithm will now be deployed on an ongoing basis. This is not the first time that the search engine giants have made this move with an algorithm change, but it is somewhat surprising that they have done so with the Penguin algorithm as it has seen so many iterations since first being rolled out in April 2012.
Since its inception, the Penguin update has shifted the scope of SEO for the better, allowing professional and reputable SEO companies to take centre stage, with those practicing black hat link practices either having to evolve their approach to fit in with best practices, or risk losing their clients in the long run.
